NFC Application for Alpha-2R

NFC Application for Alpha-2R

Near Field Communication (NFC) is a set of communication protocols that enable two electronic devices, one of which is usually a portable device such as a smartphone, to establish communication by bringing them within 4 cm (1.6 in) of each other. NFC-enabled devices can act as electronic identity documents and keycards. NFC offers a low-speed connection with simple setup that can be used to bootstrap more wireless connections.

NFC capability automatically establishes a direct connection between your NFC enabled smartphone or tablet and an Alpha-2R printer, so you can print or scan using any number of applications – without having to connect to a network or enter any login credentials. NFC capability is a factory option for Alpha-2R. For passive applications (tap to pair/link), the factory can pre-program the tag using a specified Bluetooth MAC address for Bluetooth setup or URL link to the webpage. Alpha-2R also has the option to implement the NFC read/write module for active applications e.g. tap to print, tap to diagnose applications. Some NFC applications might need the firmware to be installed. TSC welcomes customer feedback of the NFC application and to meet specific requirements. Please feel free to contact your sales representative about your NFC application and request.
